World Sounds, Community Voices
World Sounds, Community Voices: Listening, Playing, and Creating Together is a community music program I developed and facilitated at the Strathcona Community League in Edmonton. Designed for participants with or without previous musical experience, the program brought people together through guided listening, short performances, conversation, and accessible group improvisation. Participants explored musical traditions from different cultural contexts, experimented with rhythm, melody, voice, and instruments, and contributed to collaborative music-making in an informal and welcoming setting. The program aimed to support intercultural learning, social connection, creative participation, and the development of a shared community musical space
